Victoria grew up in New Jersey. She first started to learn to sail when she was 8 years old, though the first time she was ever on a sailboat was when she was 4 months old! Victoria loves to travel and explore off the beaten path. She also loves to be out in nature, whether it’s high in the mountains or deep under the ocean’s surface.
After receiving her Masters in Special Education, Victoria taught in the Bronx for a couple of years. Then she moved to El Salvador where she ran the youth sailing program for the country’s national sailing federation. Last summer she arrived to Philadelphia and learned that there was a shop where teens built wooden boats and then sailed them on the Delaware River. Now she is the Program Director of Philadelphia Wooden Boat Factory and really excited about this year’s Boat Build and Sail!
